Skylar Edward Fish (they / them) is a South Wales based music and movement artist. 'Welsh, emerging and queer', Skylar blends dance, live music and spoken word with distinctive queer flair, drawing on their own struggles with PTSD and dissociation to create truly immersive work. Skylar actively promotes bilingualism in the arts. Skylar uses the Welsh language within their work and fosters inclusive spaces for Welsh and English speakers alike.
In addition to their solo work, Skylar collaborates with various local organisations and artists. Skylar has composed for Pontypridd Nature Reserve, Leeway Productions and Gemini Ensemble, and has danced in Rainbow Valley Productions' 'Jack and The Beanstalk' (2023) and X-entricity Theatre's 'Kinky Boots' (2021). Skylar is a featured dancer for BBC's ‘Lost Boys and Fairies’ and an associate dance artist with Ransack Dance Company. Skylar was also an associate choreographer for Fran Wen's 'Popeth Ar Y Ddaear'. Skylar regularly gigs with LUCIA as a keys / synth player and will musical direct CODS' Wedding Singer in autumn 2024. Skylar prides themselves on their versatility as an artist and strives to collaborate with, and amplify the voices of young artists.
